Welcome to the Moody-Bradley House
Heirloom rentals that make your event impossible to forget!
The Story of the Moody-Bradley House
The Moody-Bradley House was built in 1860 by W. L. Moody, noted county merchant, for his bride, Elizabeth Bradley. He sold the house after he moved to Galveston to his father-in-law, F. M. Bradley, one of the county's most influential men, at a price of $2,800 in gold.
Their son, W. L. Moody, Jr. was born in the historic Home in 1865. The “Mary Moody Northen Library” in Fairfield is named in honor of his daughter, Mary Elizabeth Moody Northen.
The home was purchased and restored in 1967 by the Fairfield History Club, and continues to be preserved and managed by the Club still today.
This beloved home is part of Fairfield and Freestone County history, and holds memories for so many residents and those visiting Fairfield.
We invite you to come take a tour of this historic home...or better yet, consider rental for your next gathering or family event and make some memories at the beautiful Moody-Bradley House!
